Age of Annihilation (AoA)

Written by Tre’Von Dorsey and illustrated by Chileshe Tembo, the AoA comic book series begins in the year 2066, where survival of a climate crisis is the most pressing matter, government and technology have become a deadly union, and the melanated populous has annihilated their oppression. In this ‘coming-of-culture’ story, we follow Hesu, commander of the Midnyte Relics and guardians of the Nacirfaz empire… by any means necessary.

As worldwide governments attempt to combat the devastating waves of climate change, they produce an even deadlier threat, which the Relics must now eradicate - with the unrestricted use of cannabis as their only hope.

This story combines sci-fi and horror, lending inspiration from the Alien movie saga (Director Ridley Scott), to a real life Wakanda (Based on the Black Panther comic series by Lee, Kirby), while exploring how the abusive use of modern tech in medicine can destroy a civilization. AoA re-images a new, near-distant future in which people of the African diaspora fuse cannabis with culture & technology to save the world as we know it.
